Walsh Glass & Metal was honored to participate in the construction of New York City’s first new synagogue in 50 years. The award-winning building’s 5-story 5,000 sq ft serpentine glass façade is comprised of five horizontal ribbons, representing the five books of the Torah, which are the structural “core” of Jewish life. Walsh installed the façade, which consisted of 1½” glass panels, each 19” wide and ranging in height from 8 ft to 16 ft. Each was structurally attached to custom hinged mullions. Walsh also installed skylights and shadow boxes throughout the façade.
